Planning a Missions Trip to Guachochi, Chihuahua.

Dear Pastor and Church:

As you may remember we had been planning a Missions Trip to Agua Prieta, Sonora to help Missionary Miguel Alvarado and his church. However, the men of Hope Baptist Church, the church we are working with, decided to go instead as there was much  construction to be done and little time. After speaking with the Pastor we decided to go to Guachochi, Chihuahua and help Pastor Antonio Unzueta and his church, Guachochi Baptist Church. They have bought land just outside the town and are in the process of building a Youth Camp. Pastor Unzueta invited us to help him build and also to hold VBS style programs in their parks.  What a plan, Youth helping to build a Youth Camp. Amen! During the months of May and June we sold food and coupon books for Peter Piper Pizza so that we could go. We also donated food for the trip to help defray some of the cost.  So our trip will consist of evangelism in several parks in town and possibly one morning in an Indigenous pueblo named Corralitos (Little Corrals). In the afternoons we will be working at the Youth Camp building fences, pouring a cement floor, putting in a water storage tank and whatever else we can help with. Amen! Please pray that souls will be saved and that we can be a blessing to Guachochi Baptist Church.

As some of you may know the Federal government requires now that every American Citizen have their passport or passport card to cross the border. We too were in need of applying but we were not able to pay the cost we would incur. Praise the Lord, after speaking with several of our supporting Churches, we were able to apply for our cards in May and we received them in June. We appreciate greatly those Churches able to help us in our time of need. Thank you for your sacrifice in these troubling times.

Thank you again to all the Churches that support our ministry. You have been a tremendous blessing not only to our family but also to the folks we work with in Mexico.

Prayer Requests:

1. Kristina would like to apply for her dual-citizenship in January. Please pray for her dad to be able to come down to help her. She needs him to help her apply as he is a Mexican Citizen and a resident of the U.S. This will allow her to be in Mexico with the same rights as any other Mexican Citizen. The other benefits are that our children will be under her and won’t need any other visa or permit to be here and she can own land so that we can buy a home and also register a vehicle in Mexico. All these things will make our life a little bit easier here as we endeavour to work where the Lord has called us.

II. Our time will end here at Hope Baptist church on December 31st. Please pray with us that we may know the Lord’s will as we seek where to go next. We have been invited to work with Guachochi Baptist Church and need to make a decision soon.

Thank you for your prayers.

The Ward Family.
